Alcohol sprays were stripping AR coatings
Opticians told us the "glass cleaner" from the drugstore was voiding coating warranties within weeks. We started reformulating around a neutral pH base instead.
Ammonia cleaners left a haze of their own
Great on windows, terrible on multicoated lenses — ammonia left a faint film that caught the light under studio lamps. We cut it entirely.
Nothing dried fast enough for real use
Photographers needed a formula that flashed off between shots. That became our benchmark: under three seconds, every batch, every bottle.
What we won't compromise on

Coating-safe, always
Every formula is tested against AR, blue-light, and polarized coatings before it's approved for bottling — no exceptions for a "stronger" batch.
Plant-derived base
No alcohol, no ammonia. Our surfactant base starts as a citrus derivative, which is tough on oils without being harsh on coatings or skin.
Tested where it's used
Every batch is reviewed with the opticians and photographers who use it daily, not just in a lab under ideal lighting.
